Masiya Celebrates the Traditional "Ghabga" in Style

Following a typical hard day's work amid the usual hustle and bustle of the office, the folks at Masiya – along with their families – kicked back, relaxed and enjoyed themselves later on in the evening, as they were treated to a traditional "Ghabga" at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Kuwait City.

The "Ghabga" is a traditional mid-Ramadan celebration, which is commonly revered and commemorated throughout the Gulf Region, and basically comprises of a social gathering over a late dinner party. It is considered a valuable opportunity for acquaintances to socialize with each other and entertain themselves with such activities as card games, board games, and of course the ever popular "shisha" or water pipe.

This year's event was held in a tent-styled ballroom, appropriately groomed for the function, and was complimented by a live oriental band playing familiar Arabian tunes.

"Nurturing and strengthening the social bonding between employees, and capitalizing on the unique familial atmosphere we share at Masiya have been top priorities all along", states Mrs. Mirna Massri – HR & Administration Officer. "We at Masiya make it a point to regularly come together whenever possible to enjoy the warm, casual and relaxed company of fellow colleagues."

The get-together continued well past midnight and seemed to be thoroughly enjoyed by all those present.
