Masiya Launches Al-Jazira Sports & Cultural Club Portal

Complimenting its steadily flourishing portfolio in the domains of telecom services, wireless coverage and web solutions, the successful launching of Al-Jazira Club's (JC) e-solution by Masiya's Abu Dhabi operation has proven to be a benchmark event that is worthy of praise.

This comprehensive web portal not only boasts an array of impressive and insightful facilities, it also presents its visitors with a bundle of unique services and offerings that have never-before been experienced in the Middle East.

Among these is the Al-Jazira social network, which is a socially-oriented network harnessing communication and interaction between JC fans, players, and even club founders.

Another feature is Al-Jazira Mobile Portal, offering a collection of mobile content items such as JC ring tones, themes, videos, as well as a free SMS news service providing regular updates.

Officially launched on 1st June 2008 (pre-launched in mid April), www.jc.ae has attracted over 6,270 active registered members. Its pages have been viewed a whopping half a million times - all in a window of 90 days; with the numbers continuing to grow each day. The website is a bilingual one where content is provided in both English and Arabic for more convenient browsing.

"We certainly did not contemplate securing such a huge number of loyal visits during this short time. Besides the obvious sporting element, the unique focus on the cultural and interactive element and fan-centric discussions has proven to be of great appeal."

Apart from the highlighted features, the Al-Jazira e-Solution also consists of a web and WAP portal, content and news management system, live video streaming and Al-Jazira shop; a shopping service allowing visitors to purchase various JC items, mementos and souvenirs online.

About Al-Jazira Sports & Cultural Club

Al-Jazira Club was established in 1974 through the merger of Abu Dhabi's Al-Bateen and Al-Khalidiya clubs. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan is President of the club's Honorary Board; with H.H. Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan serving as club President and VP of the Board.

The club's vision is to create an enduring sports culture in the UAE, while actively working on transforming talented players into professional footballers. The Al-Jazira Club Academy - established in July 2004 - provides education to students who are also talented football players.
